Southampton: postbox № SO14 361, Above Bar Street
This postbox is of a modern style designed for indoor environments such as, in this case, the city's main post office, on the first floor of WH Smith's store. Beyond is the busy queue on this Saturday morning within two weeks of Christmas.
There is another similar postbox on the ground floor.

W H Smith, Above Bar, Southampton
This stretch of Above Bar is now totally pedestrianised. The terrace of shops here was built in the post war years as the area was totally destroyed by German bombers during the blitz.
