View From the Itchen Bridge, Southampton (8)
Photograph taken from the north side of the Itchen Bridge. This is an ideal vantage point from which to study the city, river, and industry. The River Itchen joins Southampton Water to the east of the city, and about 0.75 mile (1.2 kilometre) down stream of this location. On the waterfront, near the centre of picture, is the Sea Scouts HQ (white building with blue roof). On the skyline, towards the left, is the spire of St.Mary's Church. Beyond the church, is West Quay shopping centre.

The River Itchen joins Southampton Water to the east of the city, and about 0.75 mile (1.2 kilometre) down stream of this location. Looking across the moored cruisers, towards St.Mary's Stadium; home of Southampton Football Club. I'm guessing that, several hours later, the majority of the crowd were happy with the result: Southampton 5 - 0 Huddersfield
