First lunchtime pint for quite a while
Not so much a Geograph, more of an advertisement I suppose, but a point in time reminder of the months in 2020 when pubs were shut because of coronavirus and this sort of thing was prohibited. A quiet pint on a summer afternoon in the garden at the Royal Oak in Bishopstone. You don't know what you've got till it's gone, as the song says.

Littlecot
Here is a early 18th C cottage which uses local building materials. It is now Grade II listed with English Heritage Building ID: 318200. The foundations are of sarsen sandstone, some brick is used for the corners of the walls and the chimney stacks but most of the walls are built of compressed chalk, called clunch. Over the top is a thatched roof, overhanging to keep the soluble clunch dry. See also: http://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/en-318200-littlecot-bishopstone
