The lake in Lydiard Park
After many years virtually empty, the lake in Lydiard Park, near Swindon, has been fully restored to its original 18th Century proportions. The work was completed during the summer of 2006, and is part of a group of major projects at Lydiard Park funded by the Heritage Lottery plus other local and national sponsors.

Plunge pool, Lydiard Park, Swindon
The plunge pool or cold bath was once thought to be a boat-house until it was excavated and its true purpose identified. It was built in about 1820. More can be read here http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5066/5652616871_4d1700419c_o.jpg about the alleged benefits of cold bathing.
