Having left Jubilee Park by a different path from the one near the car park where I'd entered, I then found myself lost on a housing estate.

"Forever" marble poppy sculpture, Marlowe Way, Royal Wootton Bassett
Giant marble sculpture of a poppy given to Royal Wootton Bassett in gratitude for the way the town honoured repatriated military personnel. Wiltshire artist Mark Humphrey said the piece, called ‘Forever’, would serve as a memorial to the men and women who served in Iraq and Afghanistan. The coffins of 355 fallen military personnel passed through the town between Spring 2007 and Summer 2011; thousands of locals turned out to pay their respects as they passed through the High Street. The sculpture, installed in September 2015, weighs 4.5 tonnes and is 3m across. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-wiltshire-34312483

NEW Royal Wootton Bassett : Forever Memorial
The "Forever" memorial on Marlowe Way in Royal Wootton Bassett was a significant tribute honouring the 355 British military personnel who lost their lives in Iraq and Afghanistan. Crafted by artist Mark Humphrey, a marble poppy sculpture was gifted to the town in recognition of its heartfelt tributes during military repatriations. Ironically, the 'Forever' sculpture did not last for very long as it collapsed in 2016, marking a sad end to its physical presence. This is now what is in its place.
