Stratton Wood is a large woodland, situated at the north eastern edge of Swindon. It was created on former arable farmland as part of the Great Western Community Forest Project. It is managed by the Woodland Trust, a registered charity. There are several entrances to the wood, including this one, which is at the far end of the car park and benefits from a hard surfaced footpath. Image

The main footpath in Stratton Wood, Kingsdown Road, Kingsdown, Swindon
The main footpath is hard surfaced. Most of the paths are not and can get very muddy after wet weather. The notices on the left relate to major pipe works being carried out under parts of the wood and resulting in some areas being closed off whilst this is done. Image
