Overflow car park, Hawksworth Way
Rough and ready overflow car park on former Swindon Railway Works land, created to deal with parking for workers at the nearby Hawksworth Industrial Estate. The official Oasis car park on the other side of Hawksworth Way is filled with idle Royal Mail vans from Hawksworth Sorting Office during the afternoons and evenings.

Swindon College (1), North Star Avenue
This recent building is part of the campus of Swindon College. For many years the college was divided between two sites, the one here at North Star Avenue, and the original site in Regent Circus/Victoria Road. The latter has now closed, and the college is now all on the North Star Avenue site.

Former North Wiltshire Canal, looking southeast
For decades the route of the canal, between the edge of the town centre and the Ferndale Road area, has been a pedestrian footpath and cycleway. For a long time there was a metal barrier along much of it, dividing the two types of user. That seems to have disappeared. The barrier in the picture is a temporary one, in connection with some work being carried out. This section was therefore being shared by both pedestrians and cyclists.
