Gorse Hill Baptist Church, Swindon

Alleyway north of Beatrice Street, Swindon
The viewpoint is in Florence Street. The building in the background at a slight angle is Gorse Hill Baptist Church in Cricklade Road. Alleys such as this are typical of the older, central part of Swindon and few streets there do not have an alley behind them. It would be almost possible to cross this part of Swindon using nothing but alleyways to do so.

Great Western Way, Transfer Bridge, Swindon
Great Western Way is a relatively new road having been built in the last 30 years. It provides an west-east route across Swindon. It was a fairly major project as the land on which it stands was much higher than it is now. Before the road was built the land was used as railway sidings. The largely Victorian district of Gorsehill starts on the other side of Great Western Way.
