Spray camouflage
Looking across the road from the pedestrianised area of Market Street, where a small boarded section has been well sprayed. Whether by chance or design, some of the colours blend with the scenery.

Empty shop units awaiting demolition, Commercial Road, Swindon
These units formed part of the Market Hall, and were let out to various businesses. When this picture was taken, the Market Hall had been virtually all demolished, but these units were still standing, although empty. Probably the tenants had only just left. The road in the distance is Market Street; that on the right is Commercial Road. The unit on the right was occupied by Harry Conn, and was numbered 73E Commercial Road. I can't remember what he sold, but I vaguely recollect it was something collectable. maybe coins, but I could easily be wrong. In the sixties, the unit on the left was occupied by a firm called H J Goodey. I don't know what they sold, or whether they remained there until the end. More photos:- Image

Milton Road bridge, Swindon
Not quite a replica of this image by Gordon Hatton http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/862415 but it is the same bridge. The tree is the same. The old Wilts and Berks canal would have flowed under here a century ago. The steps on the right lead up to Milton Road.

Bridge under Milton Road, Swindon
The grassed area to the right is the line of an old canal which closed over a century ago. The bridge is the original one refurbished.
