A walk from Chirton to the Plain and return [64]
From The Street, this track, a public footpath, leads to Chirton village.
The walk leaves Chirton village, crosses the Andover Road, A342, and follows a restricted byway southwards before branching off onto a bridleway which ascends the scarp slope onto Salisbury Plain. At the edge of the Westdown Artillery Range, a military training area, a byway is followed east before turning north to follow a bridleway and then a minor road to Marden village. A footpath which becomes a bridleway is then taken, leading back to the starting point in Chirton. About 4¾ miles.

A walk from Chirton to the Plain and return [65]
The rear entrance to the Grange has some fine metal gatepost. The door the piers support are, however, very ugly.
