Once were trains [1]
Seen from the path that crosses the trackbed of the former Devizes branch railway, here looking east towards Pewsey and London. The branch ran from Holt Junction on the Wessex main line to Patney and Chirton on the Reading to Taunton line. The branch closed in 1966.
