More houses to be built?
Planning permission has been granted for a care home to be built on this open space near Quakers Walk. However, the leaflet attached to the fence in the image is advising residents to come to a meeting to discuss building 125 houses on the site. The tower of the church of St Mary is seen in the distance.

Devizes ways [8]
Quakers Walk, seen here looking north east, the walk, is a public footpath and part of both the Wessex Ridgeway and White Horse Trail long distance paths. The market town of Devizes developed around its 11th century castle. It gained a charter in 1141 and holds a weekly market in the large and picturesque Market Place. In the 16th century the town became known for its textiles and in the early 18th century held the largest corn market in the West Country. Devizes has about 500 listed buildings - a very large number for a small town.
