Barn ripe for conversion
Roundway House once stood near this site but has been purposely demolished. Perhaps this charming outhouse will soon follow - spontaneously?

After an overnight frost, the mist stayed in the valleys. This image is looking over Devizes from Roundway Down at about 11:30am.

2012 : Consciences Lane, the steep bit
Heading west near Roundway Farm. 14% it says, wish I knew what that means, 14% of what? Is that steeper than 20%? No trouble understanding 1 in 7.

Permissive path
The path follows the field edge. The accompanying map states that the permissive paths were created to provide alternative routes to Oliver's Castle which avoid the need to walk on the road between Rowde and Roundway.

Footpath, Roundway
The footpath, that is part of the Mid Wilts Way and the Wessex Ridgeway uses the field boundary to take walkers towards Devizes.

Kissing gate
This recently installed kissing gate is where the footpath leaves Consiences Lane. The footpath forms part of both the White Horse Trail and the Mid Wilts Way long distance footpaths.
