West Ridge is a new development of 4 houses located off Station Road.
The market town of Devizes developed around its 11th century castle. It gained a charter in 1141 and holds a weekly market in the large and picturesque Market Place. In the 16th century the town became known for its textiles and in the early 18th century held the largest corn market in the West Country. Devizes has about 500 listed buildings - a very large number for a small town.

Devizes: Wadworth's Brewery
Still fiercely independent and brewing excellent beer. There is an interesting and well laid out Visitor Centre, and brewery tours are offered.

Steps and ramp up from Station Road car park, Devizes
The ramp takes a sinuous course up the hill, intersecting at intervals the straight up steps. The car park is in the site of Devizes station, whose line closed in 1966.

Crommwell Rooms and goods entrance to the Market Plaice
On Station Road, the inscription above the shuttered door explains that the retail entrance to the Market Plaice is on Market Place. The unusual spelling 'Crommwell' seems particular to the sign over the door, other references to this address use the usual spelling.
