A grade II listed building, early 19th century. The passage through leads to Magpie Mews. now residential, but formerly a malthouse, evidently a rather small one.

Bridewell Street, Devizes
Bridewell Street leads off Long Street past the side of this blue house. Bridewell is an old word for a prison (derived from the original bridewell in London) and the town's gaol was once located in this street. The building still stands although it closed as a prison in 1836.
