Devizes buildings [99]
Numbers 14, 15 and 16 Sidmouth Street are three shops with accommodation above. Built circa 1835 in red brick under a slate roof. Number 16 has an early 20th century shopfront, number 14 has a modern shopfront, number 15 has two large plate glass windows with a central doorway. Listed, grade II, with details at: https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1252373 The market town of Devizes developed around its 11th century castle. It gained a charter in 1141 and holds a weekly market in the large and picturesque Market Place. In the 16th century the town became known for its textiles and in the early 18th century held the largest corn market in the West Country. Devizes has about 500 listed buildings - a very large number for a small town.

Number 10 Sidmouth Street was built in the 18th century with later alterations. Constructed of stuccoed brick under a slate roof. The shopfronts are modern.
