Rammed through
The Devizes Pyramid is a sculpture that represents the fact that Devizes name is based on the Latin 'ad divisas' - meaning 'at the boundaries'. The town lies at the convergence of Rowde, Pottern and Bishop Cannings. The sculpture features a number of aspects that are part of Devizes, including a rather proud ram's head; designed by Calne artist Richard Cowdy in 2008.

Sheep Street Baptist Church, Devizes
The Devizes Heritage website states that this church was built in 1852 for about £1800 on land donated by the Reverend Richard Biggs, to an architectural design of Mr Hardick of Warminster. It had seating for 700 and a schoolroom. The Presbyterians accepted the invitation to worship in the new building, whereupon the Presbyterian chapel next door was demolished.
