Devizes houses [80]
Numbers 1 and 2 Morris Lane are a pair of semi-detached houses built circa 1840 in brick on a stone plinth. Listed, grade II, with details at: https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1249839 The market town of Devizes developed around its 11th century castle. It gained a charter in 1141 and holds a weekly market in the large and picturesque Market Place. In the 16th century the town became known for its textiles and in the early 18th century held the largest corn market in the West Country. Devizes has about 500 listed buildings - a very large number for a small town.

Sheep Street Baptist Church, Devizes
The Devizes Heritage website states that this church was built in 1852 for about £1800 on land donated by the Reverend Richard Biggs, to an architectural design of Mr Hardick of Warminster. It had seating for 700 and a schoolroom. The Presbyterians accepted the invitation to worship in the new building, whereupon the Presbyterian chapel next door was demolished.

Morris Lane, a public footpath, runs from the junction of Sheep Street, Bridewell Street and Hare & Hounds Street to Long Street.
