Carshalton Road, near Banstead
Carshalton Road forms part of the route of the B278. Here, the road crosses the border from Surrey into Greater London. The road signs indicate that parking restrictions change at the boundary. This road is on route 20 of the National Cycle Network.

These are very rare now, they appear to have been discontinued some time ago although knowing you were nearing the end of the road in advance is never a bad thing.

By chance, I was cycling past this spot a few days previously when the chainsaw artist was at work. Unfortunately, on that occasion, I was without camera. The art certainly rewarded a return visit.

This fantastic carved village sign can be seen at the junction of the B278 Carshalton Road and Woodmansterne Street. One of the most unusual signs I have seen!
