RT bus in Wallington
RT 3268 on route 157 is the subject, but the background is also of interest. The shops have changed hands and Woolworths has closed. Of particular note is the spire of Christ Church Presbyterian Church, which was subsequently demolished and is now a Sainsbury's superstore. A real snapshot in time.

Festive lavender, Woodcote Road, Wallington
The Christmas decorations in Wallington echo the lavender sculpture at the top end of Woodcote Road
Image; the suburb is keen to emphasise its history as a lavender-growing area, something that is still done on the higher areas of the North Downs south of here.

Wallington: golden postbox, Woodcote Road
This particular golden postbox honours a multiple gold medal-winner, Paralympian David Weir.
Behind the postbox (and apparently perched on top of it from this angle) is an air-quality monitoring station.
Taken after sunset with a hand-held camera and no flash, hence the camera shake.

A small pedestrian precinct off Woodcote Road gives access to a back entrance to Sainsbury's (off the left of the picture).
Taken at sunset, as the streetlights came on.
