The 'Duke's Head' public house stands behind the photographer, and on sunny Summer evenings, the drinkers enjoy sitting out on the green to enjoy their beer. There used to be one of the ornamental sewer vent pipes on this green, which survived until at least 1983, but no trace of it now remains.
