Morden: Battersea New Cemetery
This is the main entrance to Battersea New Cemetery, off Lower Morden Lane, which was opened in 1891, presumably as space was used up in cemeteries nearer the centre of London. It is still managed by Wandsworth Borough Council. In the distance at the end of the drive is North East Surrey Crematorium http://www.nes-crematorium.org.uk/index.php photographed by Noel here Image

The entrance to Morden Cemetery
This was originally Battersea New Cemetery but the name now reflects its actual location. Many inner London areas have their cemeteries in the suburbs as there is far more land available.
