Upper Thames Sailing Club
The building on the north shore is that of the Upper Thames Sailing Club. Although this is really mid Thames, I suppose the reasoning is that this is one of the highest points of the river where it is possible to sail, as opposed to row, scull, drift etc.
The tug heading upstream is Barking, built as a motor tug for Faversham Gas Works in 1928 but since converted to steam.

The houses are situated in Wharf Lane part of which fronts the river. The moorings are at Bourne End Marina.

Bourne End Marina
Bourne End Marina must be one of the smallest in the UK. Behind the footbridge is the railway bridge over the old abbey stream. The Abbey was just 300m north of here. Photo is taken from The Thames Path National Trail.
