The 2nd most voted priority in our survey was speeding, residents have identified that high speeds on their roads and dangerous driving is an issue they would like their neighbourhood team to focus on.

The neighbourhood team are currently planning days of action for speed enforcement, where they will be focusing on areas and roads where they have received increased reports of speeding.

Burglary is the 3rd most voted priority for residents in Marlow. While South Buckinghamshire has seen an overall decrease in Burglary, Marlow has seen a rise compared to the same period last year.

As we begin to approach winter time, the Buckinghamshire policing area will begin their winter burglary campaign and operations. For the neighbourhood team, this will involve increased patrols to detect and deter burglary offenders as well as initiatives and community engagement to distribute home security advice to the residents of Marlow.

In our recent neighbourhood priorities survey that we ran at the end of August, residents of the Marlow area voted anti-social behaviour as their most important issue for the neighbourhood policing team to focus on. These will be issues such as cannabis and alcohol in public spaces, noise disturbances and littering, with a lot of this in Marlow being identified as but not limited to youth anti-social behaviour. Various residential areas and green spaces have been identified as hotspot areas. The team deal with reports of anti-social behaviour on Marlow high street which also entails shoplifting.

The Marlow neighbourhood team utilise their patrols to target areas that have increased and/or consistent issues of anti-social behaviour, these patrols help to both detect and deter the behaviour. There is also various ASB legislation the team utilise to deal with individuals impacting the community negatively such as community protection warnings or closure orders.
The team also respond to reports from Marlow high street, dealing with incidents of ASB and shoplifting. They will continue to patrol around the shops during peak times and also keep working to strengthen their communication with the local business community to ensure shoplifting reporting stays consistent.
At present, teams across Buckinghamshire are focusing on the run up to Halloween and firework night. The Marlow team will be working with local businesses and residents in the area to distribute crime prevention advice and ensure the evenings of celebration remain as safe as possible.

Drug offences has been highlighted as a top community concern in Marlow. Most recently the team have received increased reports of youths doing NOS.

The team will carry out hotspot patrols of areas with increased reports of drug using to detect and deter the behaviour as well as gather intelligence around offending and drug dealing activity. While out on patrols officers will continue to stop and engage with any suspicious persons and where applicable carry out stop searches. Major investigations involving drug offending will often be overseen by the investigative departments, the neighbourhood team will assist with any community actions

The team are specifically seeing issues around locations such as Marlow High Street and Higginson Park, and most recently at Draymans Lane/ Brewery court yard. They are also seeing increased reports of youth anti-social behaviour.

Action to combat anti-social behaviour will include hi-visibility patrols and partnership working with Buckinghamshire council. The team will also being conducting regular have your say events in locations most impacted by anti-social behaviour in order to provide a police presence as well as give crime prevention advice to the public. The data around anti-social behaviour will be compared monthly to ensure progress is being made on this priority.

They will continue to periodically conduct days of action and enforcement to combat speeding around the roads of Marlow. We will look to update the community on results from this activity.

The Marlow neighbourhood policing team are working towards reducing ASB in hotspot areas such as the High street, Higginson Park, Peacock road, Shelley road. Actions include high visibility patrols around the locations most impacted by anti-social behaviour with the aim to detect and deter. The team will also be continuing their partnership working with Buckinghamshire council to find new solutions and deterrents to anti-social behaviour.

The team are also working to reduce shoplifting in shopping locations around Marlow, recently shops such as Sainsbury's, Lidl and M&S being targeted. Actions surrounding this include increased engagement with shop managers, staff and security to ensure they are always reporting incidents and arranging operations within the shops.

For May, the reported anti-social behaviour incidents were:

3 Environmental ASB reports

The Marlow neighbourhood team have recently responded to reports of youths seen in possession of catapults in Sedgmoor Wood, Flackwell Heath. The team have successfully identified 3 youths and 2 were dealt with by the way Out of Court resolutions under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981.

The team have also been responding to anti-social behaviour involving off-road bikes in the Bourne End and Stokenchurch areas, these bikes are reported to be riding dangerously on public roads and woodland areas, causing distress to pedestrians. The team successfully seized 1 bike in Bourne End. They are now appealing for information to identify more riders of these bikes.

Around the Marlow area ASB has been Highlighted by the community as a priority. Results are derived from the ASB toolkit. In Marlow from showed there were 265 reported incidents in the last 12 months. Up from the previous year which recorded 184 incidences of ASB.
This is a increase of 44%.
In South West Rural 114 up from 88 and a 30% increase

This statistic will be compared monthly with each passing month to identify if the actions set deter further reports

The team have been dealing with youth anti-social behaviour in green spaces and parks in the area as well as various residential areas around marlow. This includes underage alcohol consumption and vaping, cannabis use and other disturbances such as unpleasant noise and littering. This has been occurring prominently at the ‘The Donkey Field’ off Wiltshire Road and Wallace Close / Eliot Drive play areas. Increased patrols around the area continue, the team will continue to engage with the youths and parents and will be proceeding with formal action if the behaviour does not cease.

There has also been a noticed increase in the presence of off-road dirtbikes driving dangerously on roads, particularly in the Bourne End, Stokenchurch and Lane End areas. The teams have carried out increased patrols with the aim to disrupt the dangerous driving, they have also appealed to the public for information and help to identify riders. If you see bikes not displaying numberplates, this means they should not be on the road or a public place, please report via 101 or 999 depending on the urgency and danger posed.

The team continue to take feedback from both residents and the council on what roads have the most prominent issues of speeding. Burglary Dwellings around Marlow NHPT have been regarded as a priority by the community. This was highlighted from community survey completed by the public.

Over the winter months the Marlow NHPT have seen an increase in burglaries around rural areas such as Chalkpit Lane, Seymour Plain, Spinfield lane (4), Holtspur Lane.

T – This priority will be reviewed 30th monthly and actions reassessed to ensure progress is being made and that it is still a priority to the community.

Monthly “Have your say” events continue to be conducted in locations around Princes Risborough, the focus of these events is not only to listen to local concerns but also to offer crime prevention advice to residents. Advising people on how they can make their homes unattractive prospects for burglars will play a large part in reducing and preventing burglary. Nighttime and evening patrols in hotspot and rural locations continue to take place with the aim to detect and deter burglary and any other offending.
