Bourne End Telephone Exchange and a red GPO phone box
Situated in Cores End Road, this building housed the manual exchange until the 1960s. The "In" and "Out" signs are for the BT vans to observe entering and leaving. Its postcode is SL8 5AR. Update: since this photo was taken in August 2008, the red K6 telephone box has been removed from outside this TE.

Beyond Bourne End Station
Just over the road from where the tracks stop at Bourne End station, the line of the old rail route to High Wycombe is immediately lost under the road into a business park.

River Wye at Bourne End
The Buckinghamshire Wye is a chalk stream which, upstream from High Wycombe, has a Bourne section where flow is intermittent depending on groundwater levels in the Chiltern aquifer. The Wye joins the Thames a short distance downstream from here, hence Bourne End.
