Old Milepost by the A4155, south west of Marlow
Wilder gabled iron casting by the A4155, in parish of Medmenham (Wycombe District), Whittington Farm, by the road. Inscription reads:- : READING / 14 / HENLEY / 6 : : HATFIELD / 37 : : MARLOW / 1 : Lost since 1990. Milestone Society National ID: BU_RGHT14

Houses on the edge of Marlow
Shakespeare's Way follows this footpath as it drops down gently to Marlow. This is the current limit of housing to the west. At present they have nice views up the valley of farmland behind me.

Brick and flint at Marlow
Having come off the chalk of the Chiltern Hills, it was great to see one of the first houses in Marlow built of traditional brick and flint construction, so typical of the chalk landscape. We were walking Shakespeare's Way.
