The setting of the Smyth Almshouses on Bridge Road
The Smyth Almshouses on Bridge Road date from 1659 and are on the A4 which was the old Great West Road. As can be seen they are now rather dwarfed by being on a busy road with horrible buildings opposite which take no account of this historic setting.
