Feeding calves
This field had many calves, clearly recently separated from their mothers and fending for themselves for the first time. They have learnt the concepts of food and drink.

Calves at Hurley
These calves, and all their friends behind, had probably been recently separated from their mothers and were fending for themselves for the first time. Being in a very public area there were lots of "ahs" and "oohs" as they posed for photos.

Waiting for the lock
A boat waits for Hurley Lock to fill. Like many narrowboats, the owner has colourful bowls of flowers on the roof and is proud of the shining brasswork. Cruisers are rather more prosaic.

Cottage at Hurley
This is actually close to the village but from this footpath it seems isolated. There was a beautiful light at the end of this, the hottest October day ever.
