Pound Hill Field Silwood Park
The whole field was cultivated in November 1983 in preparation for the study of rabbit grazing effects on winter wheat. The shadow of the Met Tower, from which the picture was taken, is conspicuous to the right of centre.

The Balloon Store Silwood Park
This is where the meteorological balloons were stored when this part of Silwood Park was used for weather research. The Head of Meteorology lived in Silwood Farm at that time (the Farm is now a private rental)

Met Tower Silwood Park
This meteorological tower was built with a grant from the Royal Society to study the use of radar in tracking rain storms. It is now used as a mobile phone mast by all the major telecoms companies.
