Thames Valley Police - Ascot Neighbourhood

ASB involving vehicles particularly weekends late evening / early morning concentrating around the Chobham Road area.

The Ascot Neighbourhood Team are working together with our local Roads Policing Department, partnership agencies and Surrey Police to look at ways of reducing asb in the Chobham Road area. We have been running regular patrols in the area with particular focus on the London Road Car Park and Chobham road. This will continue to be the case in the foreseeable future.

Parking Issues Sunninghill High Street and surrounding area.

The Ascot Neighbourhood Team has been conducting targeted enforcement patrols in response to community concerns about unsafe and inconsiderate parking.
This includes the issuing of tickets to vehicles parked on the zigzag lines outside Tesco’s on Sunninghill High Street, where such parking poses a serious risk to pedestrian safety and obstructs visibility. Officers are working closely with NSL, the parking enforcement agents for the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead (RBWM), to ensure a coordinated and effective approach to tackling these issues.
We remain committed to improving road safety and supporting residents through visible enforcement and partnership working. This will continue to be a high priority for the Neighbourhood team and we will pursue a policy of education and enforcement where necessary.

Theft from motor vehicles in the Sunninghill and Sunningdale areas targeting specifically unlocked vehicles

The Ascot PCSOs will be conducting a Clear Car Campaign and Have your Say stands within the targeted areas to encourage people to secure their vehicles and not leave valuables on display. Promoting crime prevention especially as the darker nights are approaching. We have run targeted patrols over the last 4 Thursdays identifying cars that have left possessions in clear view. Those car owners have had letters sent to them giving advice on keeping their cars and possessions safe.

The Ascot Neighbourhood Team are working together with our local Roads Policing Department, partnership agencies and Surrey Police to look at ways of reducing ASB in the Chobham Road area. We have recently had discussions regarding a speed watch scheme running along the Chobham road. Since Dec 1 we have conducted 10 high visibility patrols along the London and Chobham roads as well as both the London Road and Waitrose car parks. This will continue to be monitored.

The Ascot Neighbourhood Team has conducted 27 targeted enforcement patrols since Dec 1 in response to community concerns about unsafe and inconsiderate parking.
This includes words of advice and where necessary the issuing of tickets to vehicles parked on the zigzag lines outside Tesco’s on Sunninghill High Street, where such parking poses a serious risk to pedestrian safety and obstructs visibility. Officers are working closely with NSL, the parking enforcement agents for the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead (RBWM), to ensure a coordinated and effective approach to tackling these issues.

Drug Dealing and Usage around the Liddell Way and Allens Field

The Ascot neighbourhood have carried out 55 patrols in the Liddell Way/Allens field area since Dec 1 at differing times of the day to disrupt and enforce the law against drug dealing and drug use. We will continue to regard this as a high priority for our community.

We have just had a very constructive meeting with Surrey Police about running a joint operation and will update as this progresses. We have conducted 23 patrols since January along the London and Chobham roads as well as both the London Road and Waitrose car parks and this will continue to be monitored.

This includes words of advice and where necessary the issuing of tickets to vehicles parked on the zigzag lines outside Tesco’s on Sunninghill High Street, where such parking poses a serious risk to pedestrian safety and obstructs visibility. Officers are working closely with NSL, the parking enforcement agents for the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead (RBWM), to ensure a coordinated and effective approach to tackling these issues. We will be working with our local MP to give weight to the presence we show in the problem areas. We remain committed to improving road safety and supporting residents through visible enforcement and partnership working. This will continue to be a high priority for the Neighbourhood team and we will pursue a policy of education and enforcement where necessary.

Dwelling burglaries in the South Ascot / Sunningdale areas

The Ascot Neighbourhood Team conducts daily patrols at varying times to maintain a strong, high‑visibility presence in targeted areas. These patrols often include stop‑checks on suspicious or abandoned vehicles and individuals. The team also works closely with our proactive and priority crime units to identify emerging patterns of offending and respond effectively.

ASB involving youths gathering and creating noise late at night around Flame and Tesco's in Sunninghill and the Queens Road Car Park. Also in the South Ascot woods behind play area.

The Neighbourhood team have been targeting their patrols in these areas and will continue to work with the local shops to make it harder for this to happen.
We have also been working with the Sunninghill trust and Parish Councils to target specific areas of ASB and disrupt those activities.

Drug usage and dealing in areas such as Broomhall Lane, Sunninghill and Sunningdale Car Parks, Carrol Crescent, Allens Field and Rise Road.

The Ascot Neighbourhood Team conducts daily patrols at varying times to maintain a strong, high‑visibility presence in targeted areas. We continue to engage with residents whilst on patrol.

The Neighbourhood team have been targeting their patrols in these areas and will continue to work with the local shops to make it harder for this to happen, both during our early and later shifts
Recently we identified an area of wooded land in south Ascot behind the recently refurbished play area, where youths were gathering and causing some anti social behaviour. The Sunninghill Trust quickly actioned a clear up of the area and along with regular patrols have managed to move this group away from the area

Over a number of later shifts in July we have conducted some disruption operations in Broomhall Rec and the paths alongside railway track and Dry Arch Road. We will continue to challenge and move along any suspects that we come across.
