Kennedy Building east side Silwood Park
This plant, Psoralea bituminosa, is a great rarity in Britain. It appeared in the gravel strip between the building and the lawn. We thought it had been killed by the cold in the winter of 2014-15, after the roe deer had eaten all of its seed heads in autumn 2014, but it grew back in 2016 and is still alive in December 2021.

Wartime buildings in Silwood Park
The last surviving wartime buildings are used as the Refectory (centre) and Spraying Machinery Centre (left). There were dozens of such buildings when Imperial College bought the property in 1947, and all but these are now demolished. During the Second World War, Silwood was used as a military hospital. The rose in bloom by the Refectory door is Rosa 'Constance Spry'.

Hamilton Building Silwood Park
This is the main teaching building for MSc students in Ecology, Evolution and Conservation at Imperial College London. It was converted in 2009 from its previous use as a research facility for biological control by CABI International (now based at Egham). The building dates from 1988 and is flanked by two very fine fastigiate Hornbeams (Carpinus betulus 'Fastigiata').
