Victorian postbox adjacent to 47-49 High Street, Eton, Windsor, Berkshire
The postbox is fluted and dates to the mid-19th century. Listed Grade II http://www.imagesofengland.org.uk/Details/default.aspx?pid=2&id=395837 It seems less common than the slightly later Penfold postbox an example of which can be seen here http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1472262

Fire mark, 47-49 High Street, Eton, Windsor, Berkshire
The mark dates to the time when buildings had to be seen to have been insured before firefighters would deign to extinguish a fire on the premises. Things have moved on to the point where local fire brigades will put out fires regardless of their insured status assuming, of course, that the firemen aren't on strike. The fire mark can be seen in context here

47-49 High Street, Eton, Windsor, Berkshire
The building originated in the 15th century according to its listing details. Inevitably it has been altered over the centuries. Listed Grade II* http://www.imagesofengland.org.uk/Details/default.aspx?pid=2&id=395838 The fire mark and stocks visible in this image can be seen closer to here http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/4503826 and here http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/4503842 Sadly the building, most recently believed to be a cafe or restaurant, is empty and unused.
