The postbox is fluted and dates to the mid-19th century. Listed Grade II http://www.imagesofengland.org.uk/Details/default.aspx?pid=2&id=395837 It seems less common than the slightly later Penfold postbox an example of which can be seen here http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1472262
