Tiger Garden Restaurant, Eton
The restaurant, specialising in Bangladeshi cuisine, is at 47-49 High Street.
The building, previously The Cock Pit http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/2337761 has a long and varied history. The age of the building is unknown for certain. Its style is 15th century, but documentary evidence of the present structure does not occur until 1611. It is the last surviving example of the shop-houses which were typical of Eton before the arrival of the College.
The postbox http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/3474750 is an early design that was introduced in 1856.

This building dates from the 1400s. It was originally three shops, but is now the Tiger Garden Indian restaurant.

Alleyway at Eton
This interesting narrow alleyway has a Victorian Post Box with vertical letter slot, at the head. It was first installed in 1856 and is still in use!

Fluted Victorian postbox, Eton
Located at the edge of an alley between 46 and 47 High Street. This early design of postbox,
with fluted side and vertical flap for letters, dates from 1856.
The VR insignia are on the top, alongside POST OFFICE.
