Windsor Greys on the Traffic Island
The statue of Her Majesty's Windsor Greys horses, Daniel & Storm was sculpted by Robert Rattray for 60th anniversary of the Queen’s coronation in 1953. It is on the roundabout, at the Albert & Kings road junction adjacent to the Long Walk. The sculpture was unveiled in March 2014 http://windsorgreysjubileeappeal.co.uk/ .

The Queen's Greys

The Long Walk, Windsor
The Long Walk is a carriage drive which runs in a straight line, from Windsor Castle, to the statue of King George III; nearly three miles to the south. In this photograph, it can be seen that as the road climbs over the 25m contour line, it has been cambered to ensure good drainage. The photograph has been taken from the A308; a road built at a slightly sunken level which ensures that it cannot be viewed from the castle end of The Long Walk.
