Windsor: The former Stag and Hounds public house
Another closed pub but this one, together with the adjoining cottage to the left, is a Grade II Listed Building. The English Heritage website describes it thus:-
"17th century timber building, considerably altered early 19th and 20th centuries. 2 storeys, the frame concealed by stucco facing. Steep gable end, old tile roof. 2 flat roofed semi dormers, altered 20th century and large gabled pair of 2 lights. Transomed to right hand with 20th century framing and casements. Ground floor from right to left has: small paned early 19th century window; door in architrave surround; to centre projecting early 19th century rectangular bay of 3 glazing bar sashes to front, one each side, divided and flanked by fluted pilaster strips, later parapet; flush framed glazing bar
sash and 20th century timber gabled porch to the left.
The adjoining cottage to the west is early 19th century, 2 storeys painted brick with rendered 1st floor. Low pitch slate roof. 3 casements to 1st floor, single and coupled glazing bar flush framed sashes to ground floor. Panelled and glazed door with cornice hood on shaped brackets."
From information gleaned from the internet the pub was certainly still open in May 2008. Up until about 2003 the pub also had a barn which was part of the Listed Building. However by late 2003 this barn appears to have collapsed.

Windsor Cemetery
The cemetery was opened in 1854 as a traditional cemetery with enough room to erect a full sized memorial on every grave if required. Areas were created for both Church of England and Roman Catholic burials. The cemetery was extended along its southern edge in 1970, but is now virtually full.
