Windsor before the influx
Quarter to nine in the morning and Church Street has not yet woken up. Another hour and it will start to be busy, and later, as people begin to leave Windsor Castle from Henry VIII's Gate opposite, this road will be packed with tourists looking for sustenance.

Church Street, Windsor
Taken sometime in the 1970s, this ancient cobbled street contains buildings dating back to Tudor period and has an entrance to Windsor Castle at the far end. The second building on the right (with the projecting front) is "Ye Olde Kings Head", said to be where Shakespeare sat and wrote "The Merry Wives of Windsor" sometime around the year 1597.

Tourists, Castle Hill, Windsor, Berkshire
A small group of tourists from the far east gathers in the vicinity of Windsor Castle. One couple have armed themselves with a 'selfie stick', a device that makes it easier for a 'smartphone' user to take photographs of themselves via the front-facing camera normally found on these devices. In this instance the couple are taking a 'selfie' with the castle in the background. In the background of this image is a branch of The Edinburgh Woollen Mill, a clothing retailer.
