There is another bridge over to the right over the natural course of the Colne Brook. The near one, at least, seems a little more than a bridge; it certainly restricts the flow, but there is no sluice here.

A4 bridge over Colne Brook
Just how many of the drivers whizzing down the Colnbrook By-Pass notice this bridge parapet? The Colne rises near North Mymms in Hertfordshire and splits into the Colne Brook near Uxbridge before terminating in the Thames.
