Carvings on sandstone outcrop at the Wizard's Well, Alderley Edge
Water drips from a sandstone outcrop into a stone trough below. The inscription below the carving of a face reads. 'Drink of this and take thy fill for the water falls by the Wizhard's will'. This was reputedly carved in the 19th century by Robert Garner, the great-great-grandfather of local author Alan Garner (author of The Weirdstone of Brisingamen).
