Milestone at High Lane
This milestone on the A6 was erected by Cheshire County Council in 1898. This distances given are four and three quarter miles to Stockport; eleven to Manchester on one side and two miles to Disley, six to Whaley Bridge and thirteen to Buxton on the other.

Middlewood Road
The road off the A6 leads to High Lane Cricket Club. A footpath carries on to Middlewood Station, one of the few railway stations in England with no vehicular access. Hidden from view among the undergrowth on the corner is an old milestone Image

Old Milepost by the A6 in High Lane
Cast iron post by the A6, in parish of Stockport (Stockport District), High Lane (West), in angle of road junction, between pavement and hedge, on South side of road. Cast iron CCC1896, erected by the County Council in the 19th century.
