Romiley Station 150 years
A red plaque at Romiley Railway Station celebrating 150 years - Opened 1862 by the Manchester, Sheffield & Lincolnshire Railway (MS&LR) - was unveiled 8th September 2012 by Mayor Wendy Meikle & Andrew Stunell OBE MP.

Romiley Signal Box
Romiley signal box was decommissioned in July 2015. Plans have been put forward by Friends of Romiley Station https://www.facebook.com/Romiley.FoRS for it to become a local heritage/arts & crafts exhibition display centre. For the time being it is boarded up.

Romiley Junction signal box
Seen from the west end of Romiley station. The junction itself is visible just beyond the 'box, with the direct line to Manchester diverging to the left from the line through Hyde Central. The 'box appears to have an early British Railways London Midland Region name plate.
