Lamppost Artwork: Penny Lane, side 1
The artwork on one side of the lamppost on Penny Lane Image depicts Tiviot Dale Station 1902: "In those days there was Cadbury Chocolate Distribution Depot in Heaton Mersey. They used to ship the chocolate out to the soldiers on the front lines. Every night we would stand guard holding a brush stale with a bayonet strapped the end of it, protecting the chocolate".

Road crossing for horses
Next to the pedestrian crossing on Lancashire Hill there is a light controlled crossing specifically for horses. A section of the Trans Pennine Trail crosses the B6167 just above Nicholson Street. This type of crossing is known as a Pegasus crossing http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pegasus_crossing

Lancashire Hill
The B6167, Lancashire Hill, has a Pelican crossing Image for use by equestrians on the Trans Pennine Trail. In the background is the former Nicholson Arms Image Although a barbers shop and both Costcutters and Best One have opened stores up in the building none have lasted long and it remains mostly boarded up.
