Construction work at former sorting offices
The Royal Mail sorting office Image was built in the 1960s on the site of the former Super Cinema. It was closed in 2009 and is now in the process of being converted into apartments.
The plans, designed by architect Pozzoni, include 117 apartments and 12,000 sq ft of commercial, office, or retail space over the first two floors. Exchange Street
Exchange Street leads from Wellington Road South into the Bus Station past the sorting office. Across the road by the side of a disabled parking bay is a pair of postboxes (SK1 999) Image one of which is for franked mail only. In the background is the Hat Museum, its chimney flanked by adverts for office space.

A6 diversions
Wellington Road South is closed for repair work. Traffic heading north are here being diverted onto Exchange Street. Buses on the 192 service are travelling through the bus station but not stopping in the bus station.
