A6 near Buxworth
This stretch of the A6 was built in 1987 as a by-pass for Whaley Bridge and Chapel-en-le-Frith. It seems oddly bereft of vehicles in this Tuesday lunchtime view.

Bugsworth Basin, Peak Forest Canal
In 1981, as seen here, this large basin where once limestone was transshipped from the Peak Forest Tramway into narrow boats, as all overgrown and disused. Now, it's all been cleaned out and cruisers are moored here.

Gnat Hole Kilns - Bugsworth Basin
There were two banks of lime kilns on the south side of the basin. They operated until around 1890 falling out of use following a collapse in one of the chambers. The eastern bank of kilns and tramway were lost when the bypass was built in the 1980s.
