The Shall Cross
To which has been added a modern item that is standing unfixed. Only the shaft of the original cross is still standing. Although it may date back to 832 when St Paulinus visited the area this stone looks rather less old, even before the recent addition on top.

The Shall Cross, Elnor Lane
A late-9th- or 10th-century "high cross" shaft with a sundial added in the 18th or 19th century. There are fewer than 50 high crosses surviving in the UK. The Shall Cross is a Scheduled Ancient Monument - see http://magic.defra.gov.uk/rsm/23354.pdf for more information.
