Stockport Road Bridge
The bridge carrying Stockport Road over the Trans Pennine Trail. The wall on the right was cleared in April Image but nature is regaining its grip, although it hasn't yet returned to how it was in 2006 Image

Stockport Road Bridge
In 2006 the retaining wall alongside the Trans Pennine Trail (formerly the Godley to Apethorn railway line) next to Stockport Road bridge was a mass of flowers Image In April 2010 the wall was completely cleared Image By August 2010 nature was starting to take over again Image Now it is getting a firmer grip again.

Coronavirus information (Trans Pennine Trail)
At the entrance to the Trans Pennine Trail and National Cycle Route #62 off Osborne Road Image is a notice which reads: IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR VISITORS Please observe social distancing measures Visitors are being strongly urged to observe social distancing guidance at this park/open space . Tameside Council is not closing parks and open spaces for now but has warned it may have to review this if people do not act responsibly in observing public health advice by avoiding gathering in groups and following recommended social distancing measures to protect themselves and others. Visitors are being advised as follows: • If you are unwell please do not visit your local greenspace, • Ensure you follow the social distancing advice from Public Health England - keep at least 2m apart from other people. • Use your local greenspace - explore what is on your doorstep rather than driving to sites. • Remember all cafes, toilets and visitor centres at our sites are closed. • Please take all rubbish home with you Thank you for your cooperation in helping to protect yourself and others.

New Fencing
In October 2017 some of the wooden fencing by the entrance to the Trans Pennine Trail off Stockport Road/Osborne Road Image had gone missing. Now some new metal fencing has been put in place.

Osborne Road
On the right is a path leading down to the former Godley Junction to Apethorn Railway whose route is now followed by the Trans Pennine Trail and National Cycle Network Route #62. Just a few weeks ago there was a notice from the local council attached to the fence Image warning of restrictions imposed due to the coronavirus pandemic. The pandemic remains but the notice has gone.

Path to Osbourne Road
The path on the right leads off the Trans Pennine Trail to Osbourne Road and Stockport Road. On the left the Trans Pennine Trail is following the route of the former Apethorn to Godley Junction railway. Some of the stonework on part of the wall leading to the former railway bridge are missing.

Old Railway Wall
On the Trans Pennine Trail at Hyde. The footpath is on what was originally the Godley to Apethorne railway line. Stockport Road crosses the line on the bridge. Behind the flower encrusted retaining wall is Osborne Road from where an access path has been constructed. Image

Stockport Road Bridge
On the Apethorn to Godley section of the Trans Pennine Trail. The bridge carries Stockport Road over the trail. Compare with a 2006 photograph of the wall Image when it looked colourful with all the trailing flowers that have since been cleared. Now all we can see is the litter.

Trans Pennine Trail
The former Godley to Apethorn Railway line has been reclaimed for the Trans Pennine Trail and National Cycle Route #62. Behind the retaining wall by Stockport Road bridge is a path connecting the trail to Stockport Road and Osborne Road.
