Jack's Bar
At the turn of the century, 3 Hamnett Street, on the left, was Fowden's Undertakers. http://oldhyde.blogspot.co.uk/2011/04/j-t-fowden-undertakers-on-hamnet-street.html From 2013 Image it was the home of a hydroponics business, but that closed down in 2016 Image In 2017 it was opened by a local micro brewery as the Tweed Tap. Having retired due to ill health in 2021 the business has been sold and has now become Jack's Bar.
The adjoining premises at #5 are occupied by Janet Dale's Beauty Salon http://www.janetdalebeauty.co.uk/ an established business that had previously occupied #3.

Hamnett Street
I thought there was some work going on when I saw the cherry-picker-crane (actually a JLG lift) on Hamnett Street but in fact it was merely parked in the space between the hydroponics shop and the Job Centre. On the opposite side of the road is the Postal Sorting Office.
