#86 Market Street is the home of Market Place Carpet Centre, which is a long established business. #88 Market Street is presently occupied by L Mitchell opticians who have practised in Hyde since the 1940s. They used to by higher up the street at #110. The property is now empty. Markings indicate that the premises were previously occupied an ophthalmic optician. #92 is Ladbrokes betting shop.

The Unity Inn Image closed in 2011 and has since been converted into housing. If you look carefully above the bricked-up doorway the ghost sign: UNITY INN Robinsons can just be made out. Originally a bakehouse by 1869 it had become a beerhouse. It gained the sign the "Unity" in 1880 when James Barraclough kept the house due it being congregated by people from different walks of life. It was once popular with actors from the Theatre Royal. It only got a full licence in 1962 and at the time of its closure was a Robinsons' pub.

Four shops on Market Street. #116 on the corner of Croft Street used to be "LEB estates" but is now "Mortgage Connections". Hyde Newsagents & Convenience Store is a well established concern. The newest shop is "Moza" a takeaway that accepts orders online. It used to be "Pizza Planet". Another recent addition is Cat's Cake Emporium which is in what was formerly an opticians.

#94 Market Street has just opened up as Karam Int Traders who seem to deal in selling and repairing watches, phones &c. Previously it had been the Strawberry Beret Dress Agency Image who have now moved into POP on Corporation Street. Before that these premises had been occupied by Revolver Vaping; and before them by Smart Electronics and before them by Harb Electrics. On the left is Bridgfords Estate Agents and on the right Ladbrokes Betting Shop.

#90 was a for a number of years the offices of the estate agents Ian Tonge. It was empty for some time but in 2017 it became again an estate agents, Your Move Image #92 has been Ladbrokes but they have now moved out. They've had another branch on Market Place since 2012 Image #94 has been an electronics shop, a vaping shop and a dress agency Image in the past but is now Karam Int Traders Image #96 is Bridgford estate agents.

#100 on the corner of Croft Street is Inspired Jewellery. #98 was Margaret Anne florist Image which closed around 2018 and was replaced by The Owl's Hoot https://www.theowlshoot.co.uk/ which specialises in upcycled goods and who have relocated from their former shop on Clarendon Place Image #96 is Bridgfords estate agents #94 has been an electronics shop, a vaping shop and a dress agency Image in the past.
