Market Street
The white building on the left is Exchange Buildings. Now occupied by Luxury Linens it used to be Montague Burtons. The next building along, now partially occupied by Powerhouse Gym was originally The Hippodrome. On the right at the corner with Milk Street is now Pagliacci's Italian restaurant with the Live Lounge night club above it. Originally it was a furniture showroom with a café above it. Roadworks on Market Street
A new gas main is due to be laid on Market Street so the road past The Bridal Warehouse is closed off. One of the workman has left his red and white reflective jacket on a cone. The bridal shop was previously Montague Burton.

Hercules on the wine bar
A statue, thought to be Hercules, on the top of the Prima é Dopo wine bar. The building was originally an exchange market. The sculpture dates from c.1910 and is believed to be one of pair, the other of which originally belonged to Pole Bank.
