Dinting station: Glossop line platform, 1996
View eastward, towards Glossop: ex-GCR Glossop branch off former Manchester - Sheffield main line, electrified 1954 but closed beyond Hadfield 1970 (goods 1981). A local electric service has been retained, Manchester Piccadilly - Hadfield/Glossop with reversal at Dinting. It can be seen that the Up Glossop line and platform was abandoned.

Dinting Station
Now only on the line from Manchester to Glossop. Trains stop on platform 2 only. Platform 1 on the Hadfield branch (originally the line via Woodhead to Sheffield) is mostly unused. Hadfield is only served via the loop from Glossop that passes behind Dinting station.
